Sony's E3 Press Conference

Sony covered quite a bit of ground when they took the stage at E3 Monday. From new games to new hardware to the much anticipated announcement of their next generation portable system, they had quite a bit to share with everyone.</p>

Sony started their E3 press conference with a video montage of experiences from the entire Sony line. PS3 and PSP were represented, as well as a sneak peek of some things to be revealed later in the presentation. Those attending live got an extra treat, as this was in 3D and glass had been provided. Even in 2D, there were some great things in this opening video.

Jack Tretton, Sony Computer Entertainment America President and CEO then addressed the crowd. His first mission was to address what he called “the elephant in the room” and he spoke from the heart about the recent network outage. He apologized not only to players, but to 3rd party developers, retailers, and everyone affected. The company realizes that they will have to work hard to move forward, and he believes they are prepared to do that. Tretton mentioned the current and future strength of the network, and their partnership with such content providers as Netflix, Vudu, Hulu Plus, MLB.tv, and CinemaNow.
